What You’ll be doing

As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead teams responsible for designing, building, and managing key components of a diverse product and service catalogue. You’ll drive engineering practices, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the success of autonomous teams.

Positioned at a level between the CTO/Exco and delivery teams, the role is at the intersection of technology, the business, process, people and culture, where you will be operating as a senior technical & organisational leader across a range of themes and initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

Collaborate with senior management to translate business goals into a clear and actionable engineering roadmap.

Lead technology initiatives across multiple engineering teams and product domains.

Manage, mentor, and grow engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.

Own the technical architecture for your domain, ensuring alignment across teams and with broader organizational goals.

Advocate for modern engineering practices and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

Contribute to the engineering culture by promoting best practices and technical excellence.

Lead engineers, balancing time between hands-on technical tasks, architecture design, and coaching.

• 10+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience
• Leadership experience across more than one team
• Engineering background, able to combine hands-on technical and people management responsibilities
• Proven ability to engineer scalable, secure, reliable solutions in a cloud-native environment
• Experience with the development of API-first distributed systems
• Knowledge of TypeScript and Node an advantage but not essential
• Strong focus on delivering secure, well-tested, and well-documented software.
• Familiarity with continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English language
