Job Description

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Engineering Team of the Ignitis Renewables, where you’ll take care of SCADA systems' implementation, expansion, and optimization for wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and electrical substations within renewable energy parks and the Ignitis Renewables Control Room. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of communication systems and SCADA systems for renewable projects, including system architecture, component selection, and technical specifications 
  • Overseeing and managing SCADA engineering projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, project managers and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Ensuring all communication network architecture and SCADA designs and installations comply with local, national, and international codes and standards relevant to renewable energy
  • Communicating effectively with clients, contractors and suppliers, providing clear and concise information on communication network and SCADA engineering matters. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience working with SCADA systems and platforms in electrical network utilities or power plants, with experience in renewable power plant operations, electrical substations and energy storage systems
  • Knowledge of communication network architecture, communication equipment, automation technologies and their application in electrical energy sector
  • Familiarity with SCADA communication protocols such as IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, OPC, ODBC
  • Expertise in cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA systems in electrical energy sector 
  • Knowledge about renewable energy parks trading systems software and connections maintenance
  • Good communication skills for conveying technical details to non-technical stakeholders, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
