Johnson Matthey IT (JM IT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies.
As an individual contributor, the Senior Business Analyst role will define and deliver market-facing and digitally enabled products for our customers. The role will collaborate with other BAs, Product, UX, Engineering and business stakeholders to identify and define business requirements to support the delivery of high-quality solutions.
You will work alongside other BAs to continue to help shape and build the business analysis capability by contributing to a range of practice development initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to translate product/business requirements.
• Plan, lead, and facilitate regular stakeholder workshops and meetings.
• Manage change within projects to minimize risk and ensure stakeholder agreement.
• Collaborate with development teams to meet business/sector needs.
• Support and facilitate communication between business and technical participants.
• Follow the JMIT requirements process throughout the SDLC.
• Ensure solutions align with business objectives through liaison between teams, stakeholders, and end-users.
• Investigate complex business situations to identify problems and opportunities.
• Support the development of business cases for digital products.
• Define new product requirements using various elicitation techniques.
• Support Product Managers/Owners in writing user requirements and setting success measures.
• Assist the testing team in developing test cases, scripts, and strategy.
• Define metrics and establish a process for analyzing organizational statistics.
• Leverage knowledge of existing solutions for stakeholder benefit.
• Perform line management duties effectively.
• Enable continuous improvement and learning through coaching and self-development.
• Foster a sense of ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work.
• Promote a self-directed and high-performance culture.
• Encourage a culture of psychological safety within the team.
• Be open, honest, and welcoming to feedback for self, team, and business.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, business, technology, or relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst working on digital products.
• Experience delivering digital products/services across the full product/software lifecycle (design, implementation, testing).
• Ability to convert business requirements into technical and non-technical specifications.
• Proficiency in documenting requirements in JIRA and Confluence, including creating Epics and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Skill in breaking down Epics into user stories and prioritizing them for high-value delivery.
• Experience in collaboratively documenting requirements using methods like process mapping, gap analysis, and business cases, with tools such as Microsoft, Mural, and JIRA.
• Experience working in a structured development environment with Product, Design, Development, and Testing teams.
• Knowledge of Safe, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall SDLC processes.
• Strong ability to lead and facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings for valuable outputs and engagement.
• Experience mentoring and educating junior business analysts, supporting their career growth and knowledge transfer.
• Experience in functional and/or user testing.
• Experience with UX activities like prototyping, wireframing, and storyboarding.
• Project management skills.
• Awareness of ITIL principles.
• Relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of other SDLC approaches, such as Waterfall.
The annual salary offered for this position: from €40,500 - €60,000 Annually. The final offer and will be based on candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
